Hockey Day in Canada!

Recently Canada celebrated Hockey Day, and as a Michigander, I get to celebrate vicariously through CBC broadcasting.  The heartwarming and nostalgia-laced events of the day have led to the heavyweight pride match featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens.  The atmosphere in the Bell Centre was absolutely electric.  The crowd eagerly awaited a game worthy of the tradition.  As the game wore on, the Maple Leafs stretched to a 6-0 lead and the game turned nasty.  In the end, the other time-honored tradition of Canada, fighting on skates, has won the day and reflects the deeper nature of love for this sport in Canada.  Gotta love it!
